Tihon Kondratyevich is a successful goldminer. While celebrating Pancake week, he punched a big city functionary because he pestered his daughter. Fearing the revenge, Tihon escapes from the city and changes his name. He registers all he has on his wife. Tihon’s friend uses her incompetence in business and rents the mine with the conditions which are profitable for him. The goldminer doesn’t want to put up with that and returns to take back the things that belong to him.
