Robert Langdon
Robert Langdon

Robert Langdon is the protagonist of the Dan Brown book series. Robert is a professor at Harvard University who studies symbolism and art history. His colleagues gave him the nickname "Dolphin" because Robert loves to swim in the pool.
Robert is American by birth. He was born on June 22, 1964, in Exeter, New Hampshire. His appearance is far from the canons of beauty, but he is popular with his female colleagues. Langdon has penetrating blue eyes, pale skin, thick dark hair with some gray hair, and an attractive smile that he does not often use. Langdon is spoken of as a strict professor, but female students especially favor the professor because of his pleasant baritone, high intelligence, and innate charisma. Despite his mature age, Robert has no wife or children. Robert suffers from claustrophobia, which developed as a result of his fall into a well as a child. The professor also has a photographic memory and a fantastic ability to focus in extreme situations.
