Moana Waialiki

Moana is the plucky daughter of Chief Tui, who lives by the ocean on the island of Motunui. Her name means "ocean" in many Polynesian languages, including Hawaiian and Maori. At sixteen, Moana has a slim but muscular figure and long, wavy black hair, which she usually wears loose, only occasionally tying it into a bun when she swims.

Moana's greatest dream is to explore new places. Since childhood, the girl has been fascinated by the wealth of legends, as well as lore about the waters and islands of the Pacific. Most of these legends told of legendary gods and goddesses. Her father never shared Moana's fascination and was always adamant that it was too dangerous outside their reef.

Growing up, Moana will embark on a journey to uncover all the secrets of her heritage.
