John McClane

John McClane is the protagonist of the "Die Hard" franchise. This American policeman became an example of courage, brutality, and cleverness for an entire generation. He was born on May 23, 1965. The hero graduated from the police academy in 1977. John was hired by the police in the same year. McClane moved to the narcotics division in the early 80s. The protagonist moved to the robbery and homicide division in the mid-80s. The hero got a position in the anti-terrorism division in the early 2000s. John's rebellious nature and a heightened sense of justice lead to frequent conflicts with colleagues and management, but this does not prevent him from acting at his discretion. Although John may not look like a musclebound person, his excellent physical shape and knowledge of hand-to-hand combat allow him to get the better of his attackers. McClane also has an excellent sense of humor and self-irony. The hero is charismatic and attractive. However, his personal life is quite dramatic. John's relationship with his wife, Holly Gennaro McClane, is complicated and tense, and even though John heroically saved his ex from death, it was not the reason for reconciliation. The hero is the father of two children: an older daughter, Lucy Gennaro McClain, and a younger son, Jack McClain.
