Mater

Mater is Lightning McQueen's best friend and the owner of the local Radiator Springs junkyard. Mater is a friendly and welcoming country car. He is sincere and even a little naive. Although he may seem frivolous and shortsighted, it is only at first glance. Mater has extensive knowledge of auto parts and first-rate knowledge of engines and vehicle types. Mater has a peculiar country accent and a hoarse voice. The car often mispronounces words. But this makes the character funny rather than silly. He has a huge heart and a soft temper.
