His full name is Nicholas Joseph Fury. A Marvel Comics superhero, until 2014 director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Son of legendary pilot Jack Fury. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama. As a young man, Nick Fury enlisted in the U.S. Army. He participated in the Battle of Pearl Harbor. He quickly rose through the ranks, so he soon became a leader of the Howling Commandos, a special military unit. For almost four years, Fury was on the team and participated in many combat missions. He traveled to almost every front of World War II. In one of the battles, he severely damaged his left eye, after which he started wearing a patch. In 1947, he was transferred to the CIA, where he headed the Valkyrie unit until 1953. Later worked with the First Line superteam, and by 1963 Furey was a colonel in the CIA. In 1980, on Stark's recommendation, he was invited to serve as director of S.H.I.E.L.D. While with the organization, he fought against Hydra, A.I.M., Druid, and other enemies of New York City. Also led the Avengers Initiative, T.A.H.I.T.I., Insight projects. Helped the Avengers defeat Ultron in the Battle of Sokovia. Fury died by Thanos's snap, but was resurrected five years later by the Hulk. After the snap was canceled, he took a rest leave and flew into space, giving Talos his role on Earth.
