After four rounds, Granada earned their only points in a home win over Mallorca, 3-2. Girona, meanwhile, ended August among the top teams in the standings, collecting seven points from their first three games. Michel’s side achieved strong results in tough away fixtures — a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad and a 2-1 win against Sevilla.

Girona signed center-back Eric García on loan from Barcelona — the deal does not include a purchase option. Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk said Viktor Tsyhankov was one of the key reasons he chose to join the Catalan side. Getafe winger Portu also joined Girona on a four-year contract.

Another Ukrainian has joined Girona’s system — 19-year-old Dmytro Melnychenko, formerly of Nyva Buzova. He is a product of the youth academies of Rukh Lviv and Dynamo Kyiv.
