The first match between Slovakia and Slovenia for a place in Division B of the UEFA Nations League will take place at Tehelné Pole Stadium in Bratislava. The opponents previously met in the 2021 World Cup qualifiers. In their last encounter, the hosts played at home in Trnava, twice equalizing while having a numerical advantage from the 57th minute, finishing 2-2. In 2009 and 2017, the teams also competed together in the World Cup qualifying cycle. Fifteen and a half years ago, the Slovaks won 2-0 away, while in the second match, the Blue and Whites secured victory at Anton Malatinsky Stadium thanks to an own goal, 1-0.

RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Šeško registered five goals. In Division B, only Manchester City’s top scorer Erling Haaland found the net more often (seven times).
