In the second round of the UEFA Women’s U-17 Championship group stage, Group A will feature a clash between the Netherlands and Norway at Tórsvøllur Stadium in Tórshavn. The Oranje began their campaign with a convincing win over Austria, scoring three goals before the midway point of the first half and eventually winning 4–1. PSV striker Ranneke Derks netted a brace, while her teammate, defender Maud Thomassen, provided two assists. Elise Brothangen’s side demolished tournament hosts Faroe Islands 10–0, scoring eight goals before halftime. Kvinner forward Kristina Herseth was involved in five of those goals (two strikes, three assists). Vålerenga striker Maria Preus was the only player to score a hat-trick in the first round.

The two teams have met five times before. In 2012, the Lionesses won two friendlies (3–1 and 2–1). During the first round of the 2016 Euro qualifiers, the match ended in a 1–1 draw. Norway, meanwhile, is on an eight-game winning streak with an aggregate score of 33–2. Since May 2024, the youth side has lost just once — a friendly against Finland (2–3). In their last eight official matches, they have conceded just one goal.
