In Matchday 4 of Group K in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Latvia will host Albania at Skonto Stadium in Riga. Both teams earned three points from their March fixtures. The sides have met twice before in the Baltic region — both times back in the 1990s. In the 1994 World Cup and Euro 2000 qualifying campaigns, neither side managed to score at the “Eleven Wolves” stadium, with both matches ending in 0–0 draws. Interestingly, the reverse fixtures on the Balkan Peninsula also ended in draws — 1–1 and 3–3.

The Latvia vs. Albania match on June 10, 2025, will be streamed live on the MEGOGO platform.

The hosts began their qualifying campaign with a 1–0 away win over Andorra. Helmond Sport forward Dario Šits scored the only goal of the match just 12 minutes after coming off the bench. On their next matchday, Latvia suffered a predictable 0–3 loss to England at Wembley. Over the past three years, the Baltic side has recorded only one home draw — a 1–1 friendly against Liechtenstein last spring. In their last nine home games, Paolo Nicolato’s team has scored more than one goal only once — in a 2–0 win over Armenia.

Albania also failed to challenge England on the road, losing 0–2. However, the Red and Blacks bounced back in Tirana with a 3–0 thrashing of Andorra, featuring a brace from Sivasspor striker Rey Manaj. In their last seven away matches (excluding Euro appearances), Albania has picked up only two wins. Silvinho’s side has lost four of their last seven games overall and failed to score in four of them.
