Romania earned six points in the group stage — more than in their previous Euro appearances combined (zero in 2011 and one in 2022). The hosts edged Montenegro with a stoppage-time winner in Bucharest, 2-1. After a 1-3 loss to Spain in Voluntari, they bounced back to crush Denmark 3-0 in a must-win match. Universitatea Craiova forward David Barbu scored twice, while Mainz U-19 defender Emanuel Marinceu and Voluntari’s Remus Gutea each recorded a goal and an assist.
