In the final round of Champions League qualifying, Pafos will face Crvena Zvezda in the decisive second leg at Alphamega Stadium in Kolossi (Limassol District). In Belgrade, the Cypriot side pulled off a stunning upset, opening the scoring in the very first minute and winning 2–1. Juan Carlos Carcedo’s men found the net three times at Rajko Mitić Stadium, but Bruno’s goal was disallowed for a handball. The Serbian giants registered 26 shots, yet converted only once—from the penalty spot, and only on the second attempt. The goal was scored by Brazilian forward Bruno Duarte, who played in the Ukrainian Premier League for FC Lviv in the late 2010s. It was already his fourth goal of this qualifying campaign. Cape Verde defender João Correia also scored early in the match, recording his third goal involvement in Champions League qualifying.

Last month, the hosts made their tournament debut and now have a chance to reach the group stage. In three other instances during that stretch, the Red-Whites successfully cleared this hurdle. In the current qualifying campaign, the Belgrade club has already knocked out Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar (1–0, 5–1) and Lech Poznań (3–1, 1–1).
