In the final round of Champions League qualifying, Sturm will host Bodø/Glimt at Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt for the decisive second leg. In the first match, the Norwegian side crushed their opponents 5–0 at Aspmyra. By the 25th minute, the hosts were already up 3–0, with forward Jens Hauge delivering two assists before halftime. The victory ranked among the six biggest European home wins in the club’s history. Previously, the Eliteserien team had demolished Linfield (8–0), Riga’s Olimpia (6–0), Kauno Žalgiris and Roma (both 6–1), as well as Žalgiris (5–0). Sturm came close to matching their worst away defeat in international competition; back in the 2022/23 Europa League group stage, the Austrian side lost 0–6 to Feyenoord in Rotterdam.

The Austrian hosts have reached the final qualifying round of the Champions League five times before. In the past, their biggest loss at this stage was 0–2. Their most recent elimination at this stage came in the 2011/12 season, when the Styrian club fell to BATE (0–2, 1–1). In European competitions, Sturm’s biggest home wins remain two 5–0 victories—against Andorra’s Rangers and Montenegro’s Petrovac.

Bodø/Glimt have also reached the Champions League playoff round in the 2022/23 and 2024/25 campaigns. On both occasions, the Nurland side hosted the first leg, beating Dinamo Zagreb and Crvena Zvezda. However, those narrow wins weren’t enough to hold an advantage away from home. In UEFA competitions, their heaviest away defeat came in the 2021/22 Europa Conference League quarterfinals, when they lost 0–4 to Roma.
