The Champions League Phase Draw will take place in the Principality of Monaco at the Grimaldi Forum Convention Center. All thirty-six participants in the main stage of the tournament will be divided into four pots according to their positions in the individual ranking. Using dedicated software, each team will be assigned eight opponents — two from each pot — playing one match at home and one away. At this stage, clubs cannot be drawn against teams from the same domestic league, and no club will face more than two opponents from a single national championship. Bodø/Glimt, Kairat, Pafos, and Union Saint-Gilloise are preparing to make their debuts in the main stage of the competition. The Kazakh representative will be the most geographically distant club ever to take part in the tournament since the introduction of the group stage. The Norwegian side will be the first from that country to appear in this round since the 2007/08 season, when Rosenborg played in Group B. In addition, the club from the Eliteserien comes from a city located within the Arctic Circle, making it the northernmost participant in Champions League history.

Twenty-nine teams qualified directly for the main stage. The remaining seven were determined through the playoff finals. The first pot features Europe’s elite: PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona. Kairat holds one of the lowest positions on the list — ranked just 258th in the club coefficient standings.
