In the fourth round of the Europa League group stage at the Stuttgart Arena, Stuttgart will host Feyenoord. Both teams have three points. The clubs have already faced each other four times in Germany in the tournament. In the 1973/74 UEFA Cup semifinals, the teams drew 2-2. In the 1989/90 season round of 1/32, the hosts won 2-0. Nine years later, the Dutch team took revenge at the same stage, 3-1. In the 2000/01 round of 1/16, the German club prevailed again at home, 2-1. That December 2000 match was the last meeting between the teams until the current campaign.

Stuttgart began the tournament with a 2-1 home win over Celta. Then the Swabians lost to Basel 0-2 in Switzerland and Fenerbahçe 0-1 in Turkey. In the main stage, the German club scored only two goals — only four other teams in the round scored fewer. Since May, the Reds have lost at home only to Bayern in the German Supercup, 1-2. This year, the team from the city of the same name has yet to play a draw at the MHPArena.
