At Laugardalsvöllur, the Vikings drew 2-2 with the last World Cup finalist, and in October lost 3-5 at home to Ukraine. Fiorentina forward Albert Guðmundsson has contributed five points in qualifying (3 goals + 2 assists), while Köln midfielder Ísak Jóhannesson has three (2+1). The Scandinavians still have real chances to compete for second place.
