In Matchday 6 of the Europa League league phase, Porto will host Malmö at Estádio do Dragão. Notably, these teams have never faced each other in an official UEFA competition before.

Malmö comes into the match with just one point from a 1–1 draw against Dinamo Zagreb. The Swedish side lost the other four Europa League matches. They currently trail the top 24 by five points and face the risk of ending their campaign at the group stage. On the other hand, the Europa League remains Malmö’s only chance to secure European football next season. The team has struggled both defensively and offensively, scoring only two goals while conceding ten. Poor finishing combined with an unreliable defense makes it extremely difficult to stay in contention for the trophy.
