As part of Matchday 5 of the UEFA Youth League among U19 teams, Meadow Park will host a matchup between Arsenal and Bayern. The last time the youth sides of the clubs met was during a tournament in 2015: the Gunners won 2–0 at home and drew 1–1 away.

Arsenal will try to earn its first points of the European campaign. The team lost its opening four matches to peers from Athletic Bilbao, Atlético Madrid, Greek side Olympiacos, and Slavia Prague. To keep its chances of progressing, the London side must defeat Bayern and then pick up points in the final matchday against Belgian club Brugge. U19 head coach David Horseman will try to find the right words for his players. The club is going through a challenging period, but the opponent has collected only three points in four matches as well.

The Munich side fell to Chelsea but then defeated Cypriot club Pafos. After that, Bayern suffered two heavy losses to peers from Brugge and PSG, both ending 3–0. In those matches, the Munich players also finished with ten men due to red cards. Despite their struggles in Europe, the team is confident in domestic competition: seven wins in nine matches and first place in the U19 Bundesliga Group with a three-point lead over Freiburg, which has a game in hand. The game against the Germans will be one of Arsenal’s last chances to advance from the group. Bayern is also motivated, as a win would improve its position in the standings.
