In recent rounds, the Yellow-Blacks have further underlined their high class by defeating Italy’s Fiorentina, 0–1, and Turkey’s Samsunspor, 1–2. Last weekend in the domestic league, the team left no chance for Panetolikos, recording a dominant 5–0 victory.

Universitatea currently sits in twenty-third place in the Conference League table. The Romanian side managed to collect important points thanks to victories over Mainz, 1–0, and Rapid, 0–1, as well as a draw against the Armenian club Noah. Despite a defeat to Sparta in the previous round, the team quickly bounced back in the domestic championship by beating Hermannstadt. To secure progression to the next stage, the visitors are in urgent need of points in Athens. However, doing so will be extremely difficult given the attacking potential and consistency of the current Greek giants’ squad.
