As part of the first round of the group stage of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship, the Kadriorg Stadium will host the match between Montenegro and Denmark. The opponents have previously met three times in qualification rounds of the continental tournament, and in all cases, the Scandinavian side came out on top. The largest victory for Denmark was recorded in 2009, when the match ended with a score of 8-1. For the Balkan side, the upcoming tournament is a landmark event, as the team has reached the final stage of the European Championship in this age category for the first time in its history. Montenegro came through the qualification stage, showing solid results against strong opponents. In the first round of qualifying, the side defeated Italy and Estonia, and also drew with Ukraine. In the next stage, the team thrashed Norway and beat Greece, which allowed it to secure a qualifying spot despite a heavy loss to Sweden.

The attacking leaders of the Balkan side are Aleksa Čaušević and Nemanja Kljaević, who combined for six goal contributions during the qualification campaign.

Denmark is having a confident European campaign, qualifying for its eighth UEFA European Under-17 Championship. In the second round of qualifying, the team demonstrated strong attacking output, scoring three goals against Kazakhstan and six against Austria. Bodø/Glimt forward Mikkel Bro Hansen has been the main attacking force, recording six goal contributions. Kere Omran Khatar and Frederik Westergård have also made significant contributions to the team’s success.
