As part of the first round of the UEFA Conference League league phase, a match is coming up in which Italy's Atalanta will host Cyprus's Pafos on home soil. The match will take place in Bergamo at the Gewiss Stadium. The Italian club, with its extensive European cup experience, is considered the clear favorite in this contest and is aiming for nothing less than a confident win. The Cypriot visitors, for whom reaching the tournament's main draw is a huge historic achievement, travel to Italy without fear and are ready to spring a big upset through their organized team play.

The Italian side, under Maurizio Sarri, shows its trademark intense, attacking football at the start of the Serie A season. The side from Bergamo is in excellent physical shape, regularly creates numerous scoring chances, and is known for its signature man-marking press across the entire pitch. The hosts intend to pin their opponent back in their own half from the first minutes and, through the high individual quality of their players, build a solid foundation for victory.

Pafos has come a long way to reach the Conference League's main draw through the qualifying rounds. On its home turf, the Cypriot team also delivers consistent results, relying on a solid defensive setup and quick transitions from defense to attack. The visitors are well aware of the level of resistance they will face in Bergamo, and so will offer the favorite maximum compactness in midfield and strict tactical discipline in every area of the pitch.
