The North Macedonia national team, which ranks 66th in the FIFA rankings, enters this match in a deep slump. In their most recent games on the international stage, the hosts have failed to win, suffering heavy defeats to Turkey, 0-4; Denmark, 0-4; and Wales, 1-7, while also drawing 0-0 with Bosnia and Herzegovina and 0-0 with Ireland. To turn the situation around, the coaching staff will rely on maximum effort and organized defensive play. North Macedonia plans to meet its opponent with a compact block and will look for its limited chances going forward through quick counterattacks.

Switzerland, by contrast, has been playing excellent soccer this year and is enjoying a strong run of form. The team has put together an impressive series of high-quality performances on the international stage, comfortably defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-1, Canada 2-1, and Algeria 2-0, as well as beating Colombia in a penalty shootout. Switzerland’s only setback came in a difficult matchup with Argentina, when it lost 1-3 after extra time. The visitors will approach the match from a position of strength, looking to take control of possession from the opening minutes, use combination play, and capitalize on their advantage in individual quality.
