The match between Ukraine and Hungary in the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League Division B group stage will take place at Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava. In the opening match of the first round, Ukraine recorded a 1-0 away victory in Budapest thanks to a precise finish from Anderlecht forward Danylo Sikan late in the first half. The result gave Ukraine a win over the 62nd unique opponent in the history of the national team. At the same time, only one player from the Hungarian domestic league started for the hosts — Puskás Akadémia forward Dániel Lukács.

Ukraine significantly refreshed its lineup for the first-round meeting. In that match, Kharkiv defender Illia Krupskyi, Polissya forward Ihor Krasnopir, and LNZ defender Oleksandr Drambaiev made their first appearances for the national team. Shakhtar goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk made his national team debut five years ago, but the match in Budapest was only his seventh appearance for the team. In addition, forward Danylo Sikan, who scored the winning goal in Budapest, had not been called up to the national team for almost three years.

The Hungary national team is going through a squad rebuilding phase, so the roster includes many new players. In the previous head-to-head meeting, MTK forward Gábor Jurek made his debut. Defenders Márk Csinger and Rajmund Tóth made their debuts in June; Famalicão midfielder Tamás Szűcs made his first appearance in March, while Saint-Étienne midfielder Áron Csongvai and Blackburn goalkeeper Balázs Tóth have been with the team since last year.
