Germany's RB Leipzig comes into this round amid extremely unstable results, having suffered three defeats in its last four matches across all competitions, including a failed away trip in the Champions League against Como with a score of 1-4. The home side is traditionally dangerous thanks to its organized defense, hard pressing, and high level of playing discipline. It is important for the German side to deprive the opponent of operational space from the very first minutes in order to dictate its own terms on its home turf.

PSV comes into the match in good playing form, having won four of its last five regular-season matches, although in the opening round of the European competition it recorded a home draw with Shakhtar with a score of 1-1. Ismaël Saibari will remain the main creative hub of the team in midfield, while the role of the spearhead of the attacks will traditionally be taken on by Luuk de Jong. The Dutch side will try to take control of the ball from the very first minutes, make use of its rapid flanks, and rely on the high individual skill of its leaders.
