In 1917, just before the outbreak of the Great October Revolution, a Bolshevik named Vaulin unexpectedly returns to St. Petersburg from exile. The local police learn of his arrival and try to capture the man. Despite the situation, Sergei joins the struggle on the side of the revolutionaries.
