It is a movie of Peter Greenaway, a British director, artist and thinker, a detective investigation of a crime committed in Amsterdam more than 3 hundred years ago. Greenaway examines the work of Rembrandt called The Night Watch and goes deep into the details pictured by the artist. With their help, Greenaway reproduces the events of that time and discloses the plans, motives and true actions of the characters. Thus, in that period, there was ruling elite in Austria that wanted to look noble and indulgent. However, it didn’t happen like that.
