Lena Duquesne is different from everyone ever seen in a small Southern town Gatlin; she fights with herself, trying to subdue her strength and a curse, which has been haunting her family for centuries. But even in the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and destroyed cemeteries of the forgotten South, the secret will not live forever. Ethan Waite, a few days before his escape from Gatlin, is pursued by the dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena comes to live in the house on the oldest and most terrible plantation of the town, Ethan falls in love unconditionally and is purposefully trying to uncover the secret of their amazing connection.
