France, 1977. Robert Pugeole heads the factory for production of umbrellas. He cheats on his wife Suzanne and can not cope with the strike of workers. The showdown with the strikers brought Monsieur Pugeole to the hospital, and Madame Pugeole temporarily gets the director's chair. It turns out that a naive housewife is not only able to successfully manage the factory, but she is not a simpleton she seems to be at first glance. The city mayor courts Madame Pugeole; he's a communist Maurice Boben, who has loved her for a long time. But how will his attitude change, if he learns about the rich past of the housewife? And what if she decides to become a deputy?
