The protagonist of this film adaptation of the cult video game is the young Prince Dastan who always defeated his enemies in battles, but lost his kingdom because of the machinations of a treacherous courtier. Now Dastan will steal from the hands of evildoers a powerful magical artifact that can turn back time and make its owner ruler of the world. To defeat enemies, Dastan will use his brilliant skills of using knives, as well as the remarkable ability to acrobatics and juggling.
