The story of a small village Green Dol, lost in the taiga wilderness, reflected the fate of the vast country. A broad panorama of the people's life unfolds before the audience: from the defeat of Kolchak's White bands to the first furrow of a collective farm tractor on a balk, from the first elections to the Supreme Soviet to sending Green Dolers to the Great Patriotic War, from labor exploits of women's hands in the rear to the Victory Day, to the first post-war bread.
