Don and Peter is a happy Australian family, who lives with their four children in a small village. The sudden death of Peter throws a family into chaos. Each of its members produces his own survival strategy. An eight-year-old Simona refuses to take mourning period, she prefers to climb the giant fig tree that grows in the garden, and spend time there with her father. She believes that the angels have "sliding wings, like Batman" and that her father went to live in the tree crown. Life slowly starts to prevail. Don is regaining the forces, returns to work; perhaps even new love is waiting for her. Suddenly nature violently burst into the family - the toilet infests with frogs and bats are scurry around the house. A tree grows, more and more, and threatens the foundation of a house with its roots.
