1901. The Bolshevik revolutionary underground is just beginning to emerge in the workers environment. Alex has arrived in Odessa from the village and has not been used to the new situation yet. With the help of an acquaintance worker Mitya, he finds himself in the underground environment, becomes a witness of political arrests, and in the end realizes that his freedom and rights should be defended. So he becomes one of the main activists in Odessa revolutionary movement.
