«Album di Famiglia» is a wordless production by Italian director Matteo Spiazzi, which transports the audience back to the familiar 1990s.
The stage unfolds a touching story of three generations of a family, whose lives reflect the everyday life and habits of the time of the USSR’s collapse.
Behind the stylized masks of modern «commedia dell’arte» hide well-known Ukrainian actors, including Tetiana Krulikovska, Oleh Hotsuliak, Kateryna Kachan, Anastasiia Pustovit, Oleksandr Piskunov, and others.
They do not utter a single word, yet their acting remains expressive and understandable to everyone.
The set design was created by Yurii Larionov, and the costumes by Khrystyna Korabelnykova.
The performance from the Left Bank Theater won the nomination for Best Exploratory and Experimental Performance at the III GRA Festival Award (2020).
