«Antratsyt. Perseverance Day» is an unusual musical about miners, created as part of the «Miners House» project by the NGO «Tochka dotyku» in partnership with Grand Duke Films Limited and the Wild Theatre with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation and the EU under the House of Europe program.
Director Pavlo Yurov, together with the author Vicki Thornton, tells the story of a young miner, Oleksii (played by Oleksii Dorychevskyi).
After an accident in which his friend dies, the hero begins a journey through time, trying to save a loved one.
Blinded by a flash of light, he is transported from 1989 to 1969 and then travels between the Brezhnev, Stalin, and Gorbachev eras, striving to change not only his own fate but also the history of the entire USSR.
The set design was created by Kate Lane, the costumes by Veronika Finina, and the music by Marharyta Kulichova.
