«Tiger Trappers» is a dynamic musical based on the novel by Ivan Bahrianyi.
At the center is the story of a young aeronautical engineer Hryhorii Mnogohrishnyi, the great-grandson of Hetman Demian Mnogohrishnyi.
Sentenced and sent to Siberia, he escapes from a train carrying prisoners to a concentration camp.
Surviving in the taiga is not easy: danger lurks at every step, and the cruel NKVD officer Mykola Medvyn is in pursuit.
Wandering through the wilderness, Hryhorii comes across a Ukrainian family of hunters.
Their support helps him find the strength to endure, preserve his humanity, and discover love even in the hardest of times.
The idea for the musical arose in 2018 with the co-authors of the libretto, Kyrylo Bezkorovainyi and Anton Humaniuk, and the musical arrangement was created by Bohdan Reshetilov.
About a hundred people were involved in the work.
The performance was awarded the Kyiv Pectoral-2023 prize in the nomination for Best Musical Performance and became the winner of the VI GRA Festival Award in the category of Best Musical Performance in the genre of opera/operetta/musical.
