In 1870, young Scotsman Jay Cavendish travels to the Wild West to find his beloved Rose, who fled with her father after a tragic accident. Traveling through dangerous lands, the naive youth meets Silas, an experienced bounty hunter. Silas offers him protection for a fee, but he has a hidden motive: he has learned about a large bounty for the capture of Rose and her father. Jay becomes an unwitting guide for the one who is meant to destroy his love.
