Ryan Bingham spends most of his life in the air. His job involves firing employees on behalf of their bosses. He is perfectly content with his lack of attachments and his accumulation of frequent flyer miles. However, his routine is threatened by a new colleague who proposes conducting layoffs remotely. An encounter with a woman of similar views forces Ryan to reflect on the value of real human connections and the fact that a home is more than just a hotel room.
