The plot revolves around Amir, a boy from Kabul, and his loyal friend Hassan. In their childhood, Amir betrays his companion, failing to protect him from an attack. This event haunts the protagonist for many years. After emigrating to America, he builds a new life, but the past refuses to let go. Decades later, Amir returns to Afghanistan to right the wrongs of his youth and save Hassan's son. He must endure dangerous trials in a city ravaged by war.
