The film is set in a utopian future world, where nanotechnology enabled a technological genius Ken Castle to connect a videogame with reality shows and create a multiplayer game ‘Slayers’, inhabitant by local criminals. John Tillman is a sentenced to life imprisonment for a crime he did not commit. He has to take part in the game to gain his freedom. Tillman, known as Kable, is just a sim, controlled by a wealthy player. Thanks to his fighting skills and physical strength Kable becomes a national hero and is on the first place in the game. Every week millions of people around the world are watching online him and other suiciders fighting. Opposing Castle rebel group believes this game to be a high-tech slavery and must be destroyed. Kable/Tillman finds himself between two powerful opposing forces, which are not interested in his survival.
