The fate of frontier guard Yakov Koreshnikov brings him together several times with the same criminal Abzal. In the 20s, Abzal was in a gang of Basmachis and participated in robberies in the territory of Turkestan. During the Great Patriotic War, Abzal successfully hides from the authorities. Only after the war, Koreshnikov managed to arrest Abzal as a foreign spy.
