May 1945. On the outskirts of Prague ordinary people meet the Soviet soldiers-liberators with tears of joy in their eyes. In the early days of lull someone sadly remembers his life before the war, someone unexpectedly meets his love, someone comes back from the enemy dungeons, looking forward to the future, and someone warmly recalls his carman craft, taking the Czech tram instead of a tank. These days, everybody, who survived the fire of the Great War, take an oath to always keep peace in the world, honoring the memory of those who gave their lives for the simple human happiness.
