The film covers the life of the Mongolian Bair, who raised the people to rebellion against the colonialists. The script of the film was created on the ground of the writing by Novokshonov. The action takes place in 1920. English troops are occupying Mongolia. A poor hunter finds an ancient document indicating that he is a descendant of the great conqueror Genghis Khan. The English declare him to be a prince, reckoning on using him as a marionette in their political games.
