George VI, the father of the current Queen of the Great Britain Elizabeth II, was not prepared to be king. He was shy and modest person not suitable for this role for many reasons, including the one that he was stutterer. His elder brother Edward VII was well prepared to be king but he abdicated because the government’s refusal to issue a marriage with a divorced Wallis Simpson. Or because Edward was implicated with German intelligence service and the version with marriage was put forward to steal the throne from him. So George began hastily preparations to become king. A self-taught Australian logopaedist Lionel Logue who was using non-canonical methods of working with patients was invited to help the future king with stuttering and to instill confidence in his own abilities.
