Kolya comes from Odessa to the Krasin port to see his father. However, the last still haven’t returned from a research station and there is no connection with him. Staying in a boarding school, Kolya and local children are trying to gain connection with his father. Through inexperience, they break the equipment. Fearing the punishment, they decide to wait in a cinema till the first reaction of adults is over. However, getting a piece of news about a storm, they hide in the boarding school and fall asleep.
