A tragicomedy performance is based on Maxim Gorky’s play of the same name. The events take place in a rich house of Vasiliy Bessemenov’s family. He is concerned with the future of his adult children – daughter Tatyana and son Peter. Vasiliy doesn’t approve their way of living and thinks than education made them turn away from a right path. Their constant conflicts involve Elena, his son’s beloved woman and the Neil, a family’s ward, who is not grateful to Bessemenov and also ignores the feelings Tatyana has to him.
