The movie is based on Sergey Baruzdin’s play of the similar name. Sasha Nerodova works as a nurse in a district hospital. Everything is fine, there are friends, respect, but the personal life is not established yet. When Vyacheslav, the surgeon, begins to work at the hospital, Sasha shows preference to him, even though he already is someone’s husband and father.
