Under invader’s pressure, the city of Odessa runs out of drinking water. Germans occupy the nearby village with the pumping station. The water must be provided at any cost, at least for a few hours, to let citizens drink and fill the jars of the soldiers. The attempt to attack occupants in the village fails. Spy woman named Masha decides to get to the station behind the enemy lines on her own and gets lost.
