In the fourth round of the UEFA Nations League Group Stage (Group B1), Ukraine will face the Czech Republic at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland. In the first leg, Hašek's team secured a 3-2 victory in Prague, with Pavel Šulc scoring a brace. The Blue-and-Yellows have hosted the Locomotive twice before. In August 2012, the teams played out a goalless draw in a friendly match in Lviv. That squad featured two players still called up to the national team: Andriy Yarmolenko and Taras Stepanenko. The sides also met in the 2018 UEFA Nations League Group Stage. Back then, Ukraine celebrated a 1-0 victory in Kharkiv, with Ruslan Malinovskyi scoring the only goal. Malinovskyi is currently recovering from a severe injury.
The match between Ukraine and the Czech Republic will be streamed online on MEGOGO on October 14, 2024.
Rebrov's team is currently at the bottom of Group B1 with three points. In Prague, the Blue-and-Yellows suffered a 1-2 loss to Albania, despite taking the lead after halftime. However, on October 11, they defeated Georgia 1-0 in Poznań. Heorhiy Sudakov is the only Ukrainian player to have contributed to two goals in this group stage. In their last eight nominally home matches, Ukraine has recorded four draws.
The Czech Republic has six points. The Locomotive began the campaign with a heavy 1-4 defeat in Tbilisi against Georgia but bounced back in the third round with a 2-0 win over Albania in Prague. Tomáš Chorý and Pavel Šulc have each scored twice. In their last six away games, Hašek's team managed only one win, a 2-1 victory in a friendly against Norway.
