Stuttgart — PSG
Stuttgart — PSG
Kick-off on 29.01.25 22:00.
In the eighth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage, Stuttgart will face PSG at MHPArena. The hosts have only played against a French team once in their European club competition history. This happened during the 2007/08 group stage, where the Swabians lost 0-2 to Lyon at home. The Parisians have visited Munich six times to face Bayern (1-0, 1994/95; 1-5, 1997/98; 0-2, 2000/01; 1-3, 2017/18; 3-2, 2020/21; 0-2, 2022/23). They have also played in Germany against Bayer Leverkusen (4-0, 2013/14), Borussia Dortmund (1-2, 2019/20; 1-1 and 0-1, 2023/24), and RB Leipzig (1-2, 2020/21; 2-2, 2021/22).

The hosts played a 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague, lost 0-2 to Atalanta, and crushed Young Boys 5-1 at home. In these matches, the Baden-Württemberg side took 57 shots. In their previous twelve home matches in the Champions League, the Swabians achieved only three victories. Over the last ten UEFA competition games at MHPArena, the Bundesliga runners-up secured just one win, with six of those matches ending in draws.
PSG, on the other hand, suffered away defeats to Arsenal (0-2) and Bayern Munich (0-1), but thrashed Salzburg 3-0. In their previous eleven away Champions League matches, the Parisians have drawn only once in Germany, sharing points with Borussia Dortmund in a 1-1 tie. Out of twelve matches in Germany, PSG has won three times, but in the last eleven years, they managed to win only once — in Munich. The capital club failed to score in three of their last four away matches in the tournament, with two of those being in Germany.
