In the opening round of the Ukrainian Premier League, Veres will face Dynamo at Avanhard Stadium in Rivne. Since the early 2000s, the Red-and-Blacks have hosted the Ukrainian powerhouse six times, but only in the last two seasons have they done so at their home ground. The Kyiv side claimed four wins with a combined score of 10-2. In the 2023/24 campaign, the Wolves avoided another defeat thanks to a penalty in the 90+9th minute. Back in February 2018, the People's Club pulled off a 3-1 win in a nominal home match held at Arena Lviv.

The hosts are gearing up for their ninth season in the country's top division. During preseason, Oleh Shandruk's side earned victories over Nyva Ternopil (3-0), Kolos (3-2), and Kudrivka (1-0), and split wins with Rukh (0-2, 2-1) and Obolon (1-0, 0-3). The Red-and-Blacks have added several new players: Konstantinos Stamoulis (Anorthosis), Vitaliy Boyko (LNZ), Valentyn Horokh (Kolos), Denys Ndukwe (Vorskla), Serhii Sten (Metalist 1925), Alagie Valleh (Hawks, Gambia), and Kai Cipot (Mura). Five of these players joined Veres as free agents.

During the summer break, Dynamo split results with Hungary’s Kisvárda (0-2, 3-0), lost to Midtjylland (1-3) and Osijek (0-1), and played to draws with West Bromwich (1-1) and Romania’s Corvinul (0-0). So far, the reigning league champion has not made any new signings. In late June, fourteen players returned to the Kyiv club after loan spells. However, six players have already departed, and another five are set to join other teams in the near future.
